Gun Control

If your not a gunowner this means stopping crime. If your a gunowner this means a firm two-handed grip on your chosen firearm to ensure accurate shot placement. Probably why they don't see eye to eye.

Power Seekers like the term because once again it allows them to have the "Appearance" of doing something to battle crime. Forget the fact that they are simply displaying their ignorance on the topic.

Simply put they tell the masses that they have made this gun or that gun illegal in order to keep everyone safe or that have implemented additional paperwork to discourage Gun ownership.

When you think about it all they are saying is that they don't understand the meaning of the word "CRIMINAL". By putting onerous paperwork and fees onto gun ownership they are just punishing the law abiding who aren't the problem and don't need a law to tell them shooting people is unacceptable. Criminals are never going to follow these rules because they are criminals so that leaves one to conclude that Politicians believe that punishing the law-abiding is an acceptable response to crime.

Of Course their Battle Cry is "If It Saves One Life" it's worth it. Horse Puckey. If they really believed that, Alcohol would be banned. Four people a day are killed by drunk drivers alone. Not to mention the costs to society in ruined lives and families destroyed. Of course with alcohol they will proudly state that it's Un-Canadian to punish the vast majority of people who use it responsibly. The fact they rake in Billions in sin tax dollars has nothing to do with it.

Odd the fact that the vast majority of guns are used responsibly doesn't enter the picture. Maybe it's because they get tax money for the gun purchase once and their increasing addiction to OUR money isn't sated by this. Not to mention banning alcohol would cost them votes while banning guns would garner them votes in urban centres.

The non-debate over self-defense and a properably qualified individuals right to carry a firearm really brings up the Hyprocisy of the Anti-Gun's phobia.

When you think about it if it's vital that a police officer carry a handgun in order to protect themselves when confronting evil. It's only logical that we have the right to have one when evil confronts us. Afterall is the Police Officer confronting a rapist,murderer for assaulting a fellow cop or your loved one?

Ask your yourself how many female cops have been raped while in uniform? Is it because the rapist respects the uniform? Or because they know she has a gun? Is she more important then your daughter?

It must be remembered that when the seconds count the police are only minutes away. There are laws that protect them from not showing up on time. This isn't a criticism of Police just a fact.

The Power Seekers In Government need you to be afraid and to have in place laws that make you powerless. They NEED your only course of action to be asking them to do something. Which they gladly do by aquiring more power for themselves and loss of rights for you.
